Volcono errupution |
Volcano in Iceland wake up after 800 years March 19, 2021, at 8.45 pm about 20 miles Southwest of capital molten rocks suddenly burst through the surface from below the bright lava fountain then lift up the night sky a volcano in this valley finally woke up after almost 800years sleeping soundly.
TYPES OF VOLCANO
We divide the volcano in three categories
1. Active
2. Dormant
3.extinct
around 1900 of them around the globe are considered as active volcano means that erupted In the recent past and will likely do it again in the possible near future.
2. Dormant volcano haven’t popped off for the long time, but they still may in future you could say sort of sleeping as for extinct one those guys haven’t done anything in more than a million of years. Volcanic eruption in Iceland wasn’t super explosive and this happens six miles from the nearest town. So every one was perfectly safe many .
WHAT CAUSED ISLAND TO ERUPT?
Iceland case scientist weren’t surprised this volcano erupted they knew that was coming increasingly stronger earthquakes had been shaking this area for past 15 months there were 50000 earthquakes just in the three weeks leading up to eruption that 100 per hour the volcano has been active since March. Geologist says this could last for weeks months years Or even decades of constant eruption in the area
HOW VOLCANIC ERUPTION OCCURRED?
The surface of earth consists of number of tectonic plates. Which are constantly moving slowly at about rate your fingernails grow most volcanic activity occurs at the place where these plates meet boundaries the large layer of rock beneath the earth crust is called mantle this is mostly solid but in certain place it can melt to become magma this is cause volcanic activity mid-ocean ridges tectonic plate meets apart this creates space for mantle . Rock below to raise as it move upward the pressure on the rock decreases allowing it to melt when magma reaches the surface the ocean water causes it to cool creating a giant pillow like of rock called basalt these rock makeup most of the seafloor at subduction plated boundaries a thin oceanic plate under a thicker continental plate at oceanic . Plate is starred with water which drag down into the earth at around 60 miles deep water trapped inside is released which reduce the melting point of the surrounding rock around it to melt this melted rock cools as it raise different mineral cool at different rates and one of the last to cool the silica the magma which eventually reaches the surface is silica which rich thick and gloppy because the magma is so thick the gas is released on when one of these reaches the surface crusts this cause an explosive volcanic eruption .
